Clear stern, full speed ahead

The underfloor motor is particularly suitable for those who want to have the stern free. The engine can be rotated under the hull, guaranteeing extremely high maneuverability and freeing up the rear part of the boat (e.g. for bathing platforms). This does not interfere with the design language of the boat. A real win-win situation, then.

Trend 11.0UF

Steerable Pod Motor Trend

The heart of the drive is located in the drive housing. Slow-running motors transmit power to the propeller without gears via a stable stainless steel shaft. The stable propeller, which is also used in commercial shipping and submarines, ensures unique dynamic propulsion. In addition to enormous thrust forces, the extreme skew also achieves a low noise level, making conversation on board effortless. In addition, the anti-cavitation plate prevents the propeller from sucking in air and thus enables the engine to be submerged to a minimum depth. If, despite being careful, you do run aground, this is by no means a problem for the power pack. The steering fin is not only highly maneuverable but also has a predetermined breaking point to prevent major damage to the motor. The cast housing also consists of a seawater-resistant wrought aluminum alloy and a 6-layer coating against fouling and corrosion. The shaft is height-adjustable and is much larger than comparable products.

What power is required?

The Trend 11.0UF is suitable for both small dinghies and larger boats up to approx. 45 feet. As a rule of thumb, depending on hull shape and area (reserves against wind and waves), approx. 1-2kW per ton of cruising weight can be assumed. For a precise design, please contact a specialist retailer or Aquamot.

The driving time naturally depends on the capacity and quality of the batteries.
Below are examples with the Aquamot Longlife Deep-Cycle batteries.

Trend 8.0 with 4 Aquamot ALS batteries 12V/260AhTrend 11.0 with 4 Aquamot ALS batteries 12V/260Ah

Half load03 h 00 min02 h 15 min
Full load01 h 20 min01 h 00 min

Of course, there are many ways to increase or decrease the range. In principle, however, only traction batteries should be used, which have also been designed for higher currents over a longer period (ATTENTION: no starter batteries or semi-traction batteries). In addition, a minimum capacity of at least 110Ah is recommended. All batteries should have the same capacity in order to achieve the highest possible service life. Always ask your Aquamot dealer or Aquamot about the capacity design beforehand.

In general, everything is included in the drive package except batteries and charger. The control lever and on-board computer are therefore also supplied with the Trend underfloor motors. The bracket for laminating can also be purchased. The cable lengths are standardized (3 m main cable, 30 cm battery bracket, 6 m control cable to the display and control lever). Cable extensions can of course be purchased separately.

The warranty period is 2 years.
